Short Biography: Enes Yaşa is working Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture of Istanbul Technical University (ITU). He completed his master’s and Ph.D. degree and doctoral education at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Faculty of Architecture, Building Sciences. In his master’s thesis, he completed the subject “Experimental Investigation of the Effect of Surface Openings on Air Currents Generated by Wind Effect in Terms of Natural Ventilation And Cooling in Courtyard Buildings” as an experimental study in a wind tunnel. In his doctoral thesis, he focused on the computational fluid dynamics approach in architecture and completed the study “A Method Developed for the Optimization of the Courtyard Building Form According to Climatic Performance in Different Climatic Regions”. During the postdoctoral period, he worked at Texas A&M Department of Architecture-Engineering Experiment Station- Energy Systems Laboratory and conducted research in experimental and numerical fields. At Texas A&M, he has especially conducted studies on the relationship between energy and user building comfort and building double and multi-building envelope performances. He has over 20 years of experience as an academician in higher education. He has more than 40 national and international paper, conference paper and book chapter. He has been also involved some in research and development projects as a coordinator, researcher, and consultant. His areas of expertise and interest are Energy Efficiency in Building, Building Simulation, Green Building, Building Geometry and Form Optimisation, Energy Saving, Sustainable Architecture, Green Architecture, Built Environment, Energy Efficiency, Thermal Comfort, Bioclimatic Architecture, Energy Modeling in Architecture, Wind Comfort, Wind Tunnel Testing, Computational Fluid Mechanics.
