Short Biography: Zaki Islam has twenty-five years of teaching experience. Currently, teaching at the Department of Architecture, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology as a Professor. He holds a Ph.D. in Design from the North Carolina State University, USA, and a Master in Architecture from the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
A Registered Architect. Awards include the Berger Commendation Award for Excellence in Architecture 2018 and the Berger Best Young Architect 2005. His project was selected from Bangladesh to be sent for the Aga Khan Award of Architecture.
An accomplished researcher in the child-environment field who has experience working with international research teams. His experience includes working at the Natural Learning Initiative, USA.
Zaki has published and presented papers extensively in international journals and seminars in Architecture. He has been a member of the jury board of national-level design competitions.
