Short Biography: Dr. Faris Ali Mustafa works as Professor at the Department of Architecture, Salahaddin University – Erbil (SUE), Erbil, Iraq. He received a PhD. in Architecture from Universiti Sains Malaysia (2011), an MSc in Environmental Design from Sudan University of Science & Technology (2002), and a BSc in Architecture from the University of Mosul, Iraq. At the Department of Architecture in SUE, he is teaching Design Studies and Research Methodology for MSc & PhD Program, supervising several MSc and Ph.D. students, besides teaching subjects of Graduation Project, Vernacular Architecture, and Design Methods and Strategies for undergraduates. His main research interests are Architectural and Interior Design Studies. He is active in writing and publishing research papers in international journals and conferences. His research and studies are applying the theory of Space Syntax and its tools and techniques. He has published more than 50 papers in international journals, books, book chapters, and international conferences. Member of the editorial board of several international journals in the field of architecture and urbanism.
