The current research paper aims to address the previous question by examining the spatial characteristics that stimulate a sense of spirituality within mosque courtyards. The importance of focusing on the courtyard element arises from two reasons. First, the courtyard has disappeared from many modern mosques in our Arab and Islamic countries. Second, many designers neglect the spatial characteristics of the courtyard, which have evolved and developed over more than ten centuries and continue to impact the spatial and spiritual experience of users in mosques with courtyards.
