Paper Abstract
This study explores the evolution of mosque architecture in Istanbul, focusing on the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) to address contemporary trends and emerging challenges, particularly in the women’s section. As Istanbul undergoes rapid modernization, there is an increasing need to adapt mosque designs to meet current social and cultural needs while preserving their historical significance.
The research examines how AI can enhance the design and functionality of mosques, emphasizing improvements in the women's section. By analyzing case studies of both historical and contemporary mosques in Istanbul, the study identifies gaps in existing architectural practices and proposes innovative solutions that balance traditional values with modern requirements.
This paper offers a framework for developing mosque designs that are culturally respectful and adaptable to contemporary needs, providing insights into how AI can create more inclusive and functional prayer spaces. The findings contribute to advancing mosque architecture in Istanbul, aligning with both historical context and future trends.
