Personal Biography
Nil Aynalı is a researcher, architect and lecturer. Her academic interests focus on architectural design, architectural theory and philosophy, phenomenology of architecture and understanding of space in Sufism and Islamic thought. She earned her PhD degree in 2024 at Istanbul Technical University with her dissertation titled “The Notion of Space in İbn Arabi”. She graduated from Istanbul Technical University, Department of Architecture in 2005 and Istanbul Bilgi University, Architectural Design MSc Programme in 2007. She has worked in design offices as architect, curator and editor. She was among the founders of a spatial art initiative called Yoğunluk and her works were exhibited in national and international exhibitions.
