Paper Abstract
Mosques are traditionally recognized by their domes; however, the need for roof space has led to competition with solar cells that provide essential energy to the mosques. The designer of Al-Mansour Mosque in Shafa Badran, Amman, Jordan, decided to prioritize solar panels on the roof, which, regrettably, compromised the aesthetic of the internal ceiling.
The mosque's supervising committee, overseeing construction and operation, sought the author's expertise for the interior design. The author suggested the construction of main and secondary internal domes and submitted revised false ceiling plans in collaboration with HVAC engineers to ensure a comfortable and climate-controlled environment for the congregation.
