The purpose of this article is to provide insights into gender equality through space to promote gender equality in mosques as well as to critique gender segregation in mosques, especially in the Arab world. Although this issue has been well studied in Western countries and some of the responses have been applied to mosques around the world. There are no cases from Western countries selected by the author. Also, the author did not explain the method of analysis very well. Did he rely only on secondary information (mosque drawings) or did he visit the cases and interviewed the users? In addition to the excellent literature review and typical analysis of the cases, the paper could benefit from including some design guidelines.
