The topic is very interesting and provides a good example of Mosques architecture not in the Middle-East. Also evident is the understanding of how Islamic concepts have been reinterpreted and assimilated by using local Chinese culture, construction techniques, and expression.
Perhaps more focus should be given to the methodology. It is still unclear how the paper will examine spatial meanings of courtyards of the Great Mosque of Xi’an by analyzing how the courtyards have been transformed into a meaningful Islamic symbol. Will you use space syntax, cognitive maps, historical case study analysis, etc? This needs to be considered as you move forward in the research.
The abstract meets the requirements of the conference and is accepted.
Fascinating read yet needs methodological clarity
